Plot 90 rethinks the commercial typology in dense Antelias through fragmentation rather than mass. The project is composed of five blocks distributed across the site, creating a porous and human-scaled environment. It allows for visual permeability and a more intimate relationship between the built form and its surroundings.
The buildings are unified through a distinct material language, a corrugated green aluminum cladding that introduces a deliberate contrast to the predominantly gray urban context. This material gives the project a strong presence but also enhances the visual experience from the hillside residences overlooking the site. Elements in rusted steel, such as pergolas and window frames, complement the materials with warmth and texture.
Nature is treated as a primary architectural element. Greenery flows continuously across the project, along its edges, throughout the central terrace and most importantly in the spaces between the buildings. A various selection of Mediterranean species including olive trees, lemon trees, pomegranate trees, lavender and rosemary, creates a layered landscape that engages the senses and softens the built environment.
At the heart of Plot 90, a large circular planter anchors the space, bringing together architecture, program and landscape into a cohesive whole. Slightly elevated above street level, the project establishes a subtle detachment from the surrounding traffic, offering a calmer, immersive experience where built form and nature coexist.
